Grassley Amendment (#3569) on Rural Health Equity

• The amendment repeals the frontier state provision included in the health care law, and re-directs that savings toward the physician practice expense geographic adjustment.

• The frontier states provision in the health care law would apply only to selected rural states.  According to the bill sponsors, the physician practice expense geographic adjustments would apply to all rural areas.
