Up Next for Democrats: Single Payer…?

The Hill reports this morning on comments by House Majority Whip Jim Clyburn, made on a conference call with reporters yesterday held by the Center for American Progress, and intended to drive voter turnout among Democrats.  Here’s how Clyburn framed the stakes of the midterm elections—and previewed the Democrat agenda for the 112^th Congress:

“If we do not protect what we’ve done thus far and give President Obama and the House Democrats and Senate Democrats an opportunity to build upon it next year — next year we may even get the public option or even get the single payer at some point in the future.”
